Supernatural
Many movies do use supernatural as a way to make you scared. It does work because of religion. Supernatural is the relating to an order of existence of God, Satan, spirit, and devil. I believe supernatural can make a horror movie scarier by adding a connection of supernatural because of the these ideas we believe. Different types of religion have different ways of believing God, Satan, spirit, and the devil. Making horror films connecting it will make it scarier because of the real life situation and because people believe or worship it. Spirits are used in religion as a good way or a bad way. Horror films mainly make spirits something evil or scary. For example, "The Sixth Sense" is about a boy who has a sixth sense of seeing spirits. These spirits in the movie start out as scary spirits but then later on he helps them. But the point is these spirits are not in there own human form which makes it scary. They can scare you because you don't know what they can do to you. When you think of the devil, you think of evil. Evil can mean chaotic, disturbing, and unpredictable events happening to someone or something. In religion, they might teach you the negative things about it. That's why scary movie connect religion affiliations with it because of real life situations. Some people might believe in the devil or spirits and connecting it to movies only makes it scarier because of the bad energy it might send off. I do believe in the supernatural because of evidence and even footage off cameras from television shows like "Ghost Hunters" or any paranormal activity shows that have actual footage.
