The Exorcist

"The Exorcist" was an amazing film filled with scary scenes. Here are pretty much the scary parts and the summary of the whole movie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpPwC7QRvFQ They say that "The Exorcist" was known as the scariest movie of all time back in the 70's. Now directors are creating new works of film that have scarier plots and scenes. I believe "The Exorcist" isn't as scary as it was almost 40 years ago. There is new and better technology that helps make us believe in the supernatural. There are movies now that supposedly are scarier than "The Exorcist" like "Paranormal Activity" or the "Saw" sequels. There is the famous scene from "The Exorcist" that made me jump from my seat is the spider walk. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-4f_NMUxcY&feature=related I think it’s because it’s unusual and you don't see that anywhere else in scary movies because it’s so famous. The scene is just scary as it is. She is walking downstairs backwards with blood coming out of her mouth. This scene is so not attractive. Another scary scene is the when the girl is getting a medical scan she sees the demon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Agrke9hpfQY&feature=related It freaked me out because you can see the demon for about 2 seconds then its away. The demon is truly scary looking and freaked me out. There are some parts of the movie which I believed were not scary as in this part of the movie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qG5V2iBvFs&feature=related I've known this before and I knew her head was going to spin. I found it rather funny because it looked really unrealistic. I think with today's technology they can make this head spin and look so real to the point it might gross someone out. The part of the movie which I felt so offended was when she kept using curse words to the priest about Jesus and God. It was so disrespectful that I couldn't really handle it. The way that they use religion and horror together can make someone not want to watch the movie. It's funny because as I look for more scary parts or not so scary parts from the film, YouTube has made some videos unable to be watched. It says that it might contain inappropriate content and that if you are 18 years or older. That right there just says that you shouldn't watch it because it’s that "scary". It’s not that bad that Scary movies have changed so much since "The Exorcist". It truly has and they have found other ways to make it scarier by adding real life situations. The movie "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" is the most scariest that I've seen so far. I think it’s because it’s about a man who has a messed up face and wears a mask and chases after people with a chainsaw. I think if the main girl from "The Exorcist" had a weapon of choice it would make it scarier. Showing graphic scenes of a person hurting another person, physically, is scary. Those scenes just torment you through the years.
